The glaze is not good, it can be better. The photos are stencils that overlap and you can see the overlap. Its still good enough to give as a gift.

My granddaughter studied the French Revolution in Middle School. We went to see Versailles last summer. She likes to drink hot chocolate. Therefore, this was a perfect gift for her. She fixed hot cocoa and grinned at the disappearing wives. Worked as described.

The Unemployed Philosophers Guild is a fantastic company offering creative products with a wicked sense of humor. This mug is no exception. It marries many of the things I love - history, art, wit, and collectibles. Yes, that is correct... I bought it for myself as a collectible (as I love the medling of painting with commonplace, everyday use items, such as magnets, mugs, emery boards, etc.; Walter Benjamin would have chided me thoroughly for this), and I dont ever drink hot liquids. Thats how awesome this mug is. Its not even serving its intended function, yet I adore it all the same. I highly recommend it for the Tudor lover in anybodys life.
