PLEASE BRING THIS SERIES BACK

I loved the series. Because I contributed to PBS for a year and I plan to contribute every year, I have watched season 1 and 2 multiple times on my iPad. At least give us a 2 hour final season episode. Episode 5 of season 2 ended so abruptly we were left with too many unanswered questions. Not fair! Bring it back.

Why do you stop!!!??

Outstanding series.. more compelling than Downton Abbey. I can name at least 25 people who are extremely disappointed that the show ended so abruptly. Why did it stop??!! Please resume

Compelling drama cut short

This was a compelling drama. I watched it religiously and found it to be superior to many other masterpiece dramas. The acting was superb, and character development was simply perfect. Everything about this show was truly excellent. Watching it one identified with each of the women and each session made that identification with the character deeper. The most poignant part of the story was that of Pat, who was married to a writer - a mean, abusive man who controlled her every minute, every day. She had found love with a Czeckoslovatian soldier and had finally reached the point where she could face her controlling, mean husband, and then run to try and find the man she loved and who loved her. And, unbelievably for all of us watching, the series abruptly stopped. No end of story - nothing. This is explotation of the worse kind of a reader - faithful for many episodes and intimately involved in the lives of these characters - suddenly left with nothing. No resolution, not even an advisory that this was the final episode. So...I found this the best of dramas...and the worst. Readers dedicated to this story and then left abandonded . I give it 5 stars for the story, the acting and the presentation. Not for the ending, for there was none. And that is why I would not recommend this compelling drama to another friend or acquaintance. I hope that someone on PBS knows who made the decision to stop this drama without explanation and has the courage to let them know that doing what they did was unfair and not at all professional. I would have hoped for better. Thank you.

What happened to the shows Home Fires I loved it.

Disable, and I love the British Dramas please Id rather watch them than any other things on T.V.

Excellent!

Great series. It is a tragedy that ITV cancelled this series. Very short-sighted of them. Perhaps they are in financial difficulties. If so, cancelling such a popular show seems really dumb.

Loved this series! Refreshing, enjoyable, great characters.

Why would you end this series with everything left unfinished, untold? Such an engaging series with great character portrayals. So disappointed that this was cut off as it was. Surely you can do better then this with such an entertaining show. I am hoping you will rethink this and continue this series. It had so much to offer in comparison to some other programs you have going. As a OPB sustaining member I would hope to see more of this type of programming, not less.

absolutely would buy this product. no question about it.

this is the best tv program on tv. its a crime they do not plan to bring back for a third season. what are they thinking? great acting, actors and storyline is excellent. they did not even advertise it properly On Demand Comcast. Although Call the Midwife is good -- Home Fires is so much better and more. With intrigue and seeing the lives of people during the War and what they had to go through. Shame on the pbs for not having it back for a Third Season. I hope its not politics and I know they can budget it to run again.

Wonderful how- Dont Miss It

This is a wonderful show based in WWII in England. The characters and situations are so realistic. It is so disappointing that they are not going to continue this for at least another season. The last episode was set in Sept 1940. There are so many story lines hanging, lives in the balance and they are just going to leave it at that??.

Terrible decision to cancel

I loved this series and cant believe they left it hanging with the plane crash and no expectation of whether Joan lost the farm! Ive purchased both years series in hopes the decision makers will change their minds!

Home Fires - Very good

This is a well written story about the beginning of World War II and how a town dealt with it. It showed the humorous, the sad, the loving and hatred that develops while the war is at the door to their town. I hope its not true that they discontinued this outstanding series. Why would anyone in their right mind not continue to continue this show? Doesnt make sense.

Wonderful characters and performances

This miniseries gives you a a small but poignant glimpse into how the war affected families in their every day lives. It is a wonderful ensemble cast of women and their role in keeping life rolling, even under the hardest if circumstances.

The production values of this mini-series are exquisite - you totally lose yourself in life as it must have been in pre-war rural England. We hope this mini-series is continued for many more seasons. If you did not see it, buy this set, youll love it!
