Masterpiece: Wuthering Heights (UK Edition) DVD

Great movie! Loved it so much kept watching it multiple times. Love PBS products. Will be buying many more products in the future. Thank you!

WHAT AN AMAZING CAST, ESPECIALLY TOM HARDY, MADE ME VIEW 5 OF HIS FILMS IN A MONTHS TIME. THE LANDSCAPE AND SETS CONJURE UP ANOTHER TIME WITH AUTHENTICITY. MY 12 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IS ALSO A HUGE FAN AND HAS CHECKED THE BOOK OUT OF OUR LOCAL LIBRARY. NO ONE DOES EPIC PERIOD PIECES BETTER THAN MASTERPIECE THEATER.

I purchased this movie from pbs and I absoultely loved it. It was so passionate and raw. I enjoyed every minute. Hardy as was so intense. He both scared and bewitched me at the same time. Much more than a love story. A must see!!!!!

This movie is a lovely love story. A love story that should be read or seem by everyone.

I have made a habit out of seeing movies specifically because Mr. Hardy is in them and this movie did not disappoint. Although his role as Robert Dudley will most likely always remain my favorite, he is exceptional in everything. Even in his role in Star Trek and his very brief appearance in Marie Antoinette, which no acting was even required ( I think just his presence on screen is enough to appease). This version of Wuthering Heights was, by far, the most gripping. I was never bored and thoroughly enjoyed that the actors , I felt, became the characters so well.

Dont let the cover of this DVD fool you--while Tom Hardy looks like a pretty boy here, he does an amazing job playing an intense, rugged Heathcliff. Actually, most of the actors do a great job, with the exception of the girl who played Catherine, Cathys daughter--she seemed to be trying too hard to play the character young. The story is adapted well, too, leaving out the frame story of the man who learns about the lovera while visiting Wuthering Heights. The ending wasnt as satisfying as the books ending, but overall I really enjoyed the movie--very intense!

Loved this movie watched it 5 times already. I cant wait to get the book.

I loved this movie so much. This was a great adaptation of the book. They took some parts and messed with them to make them more pleasing for the audience. I watched it. The next day I bought it. Lovely. :]

This is by far my favorite adaptation of my favorite novel. I think it is the most accurate representation of the spirit of the story.

This adaptation of the classic novel is the best i have seen--and i have seen them all. Fans of Tom Hardy here will be astounded by the range he exhibits in other films. small roles show his potential, larger roles like The Virgin Queen,RocknRolla,and Bronson ought to bring him accolADES world wide. I have watched two films unavailable in the US, Stuart: A Life Backwards, blew me away, Hardys Heathcliff embodies the Bronte character with the addition of his own interps. His eyes speak many of the films lines, and his special touches, like the primal scream at Cathys death, the poignant honeymoon with Ms. Linton, the seduction of young Catherine to ride with him to the Heights to see her cousin, all these show not only a well-trained actor but one whose own instincts will make him one of the best. For those of you who can see sojme of his stage roles, I envy you! See him also in film Scenes of a Sexual Nature. I think yhou will find thisadaption of the classic -- a classic. I am now looking for the soundtrack!

Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley together as Heathcliff and Cathy are compelling. While they can both be cruel, selfish, jealous, self-destructive the love between them is passionate and never-ending. I still wanted them to be together despite everything that went wrong so the ending is heartbreaking yet romantic. Buying the white horse at the village fair was a nice touch. I really loved the locations in england they used. The supporting actors were all wonderful. Burn Gorman is definitely someone to watch in the future.

I loved this story and the characters were all wonderful. I have been watching Masterpiece Theatre for awhile enjoying everything I see but Wuthering Heights I will definitely purchase to see again. I would have gladly played Kathy in this movie. I knew, from the faint smile on Heathcliffs face, nearing the end what he had done to himself. It was a heartbreaking end, but suited this masterpiece.

I have seen every version of Wuthering Heights that is available and to this day have not been impressed with the story. However, after seeing Tom Hardy become Heathcliff, I have to tell you that his performance was outstanding! He brought to the screen the pain, the love, the feeling of the story better than any previous actor has. He is the perfect Heathcliff and as long as I think of the story, his portrayal will be in my mind. Excellent job, Tom you have a fantastic career ahead of you in acting. This is the first time I really felt the pain and agony of Heathcliff and Cathy as it should be. Please let us see more of these two great actors in the future of Masterpiece Classic! Tom Hardy was electrifying in his role as Heathcliff. He is such an amazing young actor. The Virgin Queen is another fine example of Toms projects. Oliver Twist again, proved to be a fine example of Toms greats. Hope Tom stays on this path in his career.

This story was so moving and so passionate on many levels. It kept pulling me in with every scene. The actors were simply spectacular, costuming accurate and scenery delicious. Heathcliff is a magnet and he draws you in at every word, every look every step. The love between Cathy and Heathcliff is like none ever known and so powerful that death only seals its permanency.

I just couldnt sleep after this movie I thought about this movie for days it really is one of the few movies that I have enjoyed in a long time .

This adaptation was great, but i prefer the original version of 1939. Unfortunately it came out the same year as GWTW, but in my opinion Wuthering Heights far surpassed GWTW.

This movie is the best thing since Pride and Prejudice staring Keira Knightley(Elizabeth Bennett) Mr.Darcy(Matthew MacFadyen. The movie is just spellbound and soothing I have watch it like 5times already. i hope they keep on bring on these clean cut movies for family entertainment.
