What a woman
Review by Boots S. on 07/17/20 review stating What a woman
I accidentally ran into Nellie Bly on the internet. After reading about her I read Ten Days in a Madhouse which she wrote (reported on) in 1887. She was excellent in exposing the horrors of a mental institution. I simply had to see something more about this girl. I found her documentary at the PBS shop. American Experience: Around the World in 72 Days did not disappoint. It not only covered the 72 days she traveled around the world breaking Phineas Foggs record of 80 days depicted in Jules Vernes Around the World in 80 Days, but also covered much of her life as well. I really liked it.

A great voyage

Well done DVD, would have liked a bit more about the latter years but guess there was not that much to say? What a courageous woman in the world of male dominated journalism. It would be interesting if she were alive today, she would have been on the forefront of all the news. She was the first.
