He stole his mothers farm
Review by Michael on 07/17/20 review stating He stole his mothers farm
This is one of the best documentaries of its kind that I have seen. From the Cuban Missile Crisis to the first piece of property he seized in the name of the revolution-his mothers farm-this documentary is very comprehensive.

FDR and his life
Review by Mark on 07/17/20 review stating FDR and his life
This dvd is very good on the history of FDR and his life. It is showing its age in the dvd but as a scholar of the Great Depression, it brings out some good information on his life and why the New Deal worked and its roots.

FDR demands great respect, and the DVD is required viewing to remind us all that the federal government provides a valuable service to us all. No one does it solely on their own.

Review by Ithacakat on 07/17/20 review stating Learn the inside story
There is so much I discovered about the US president during the depression adn WW2 from this comprehensive DVD. From his earliest years with an alcoholic father and overbearing mother, to courting and marrying his distant cousin, to being the US president for 4 terms, FDR was much more than history recalls. The DVD is a combination of still photos and moving pictures from his own time and color stills and video in modern day. Highly recommended!

A New Perspective on WW11
Review by Don on 07/17/20 review stating A New Perspective on WW11
Even though one might be a WW11 history buff, this DVD emlightens more than any others Ive watched concerning the Pacific. The coverage of the devestation of Japan and its eventual surrender helps one understand the reason for the dropping of the two atomic bombs. Very cimpelling and of much historical value.

The archives searched and the material gathered for this movie was well edited and produced for the average person like me to follow and revel in. It did more than satisfy my curiosity, it also improved my understanding of movie pioneers and actors. Thanks for the experience.

This is my favorite American Experience episode. It is no longer available on Netflix or Amazon to view. I decided to purchase it so I could watch it any time I wanted. For the time allowed it is thorough telling the highs and lows in his journey. Narrated beautifully by David McCulloch and lovely background music. Now Im ready for todays Ken Burns Roosevelt series!

Review by B.R. on 07/17/20 review stating American Experience...enough said....
As with all American Experience documentaries, RFK is very well done. This documentary does a good job focuing on RFK before and after President Kennedys death. While JFK is synonomous with RFK, Robert Kennedy was his own man with his own achievements. Unfortunately, we know the ending which leaves us wondering....what if....

Must See for any descendant of a service
Review by Keith on 07/17/20 review stating Must See for any descendant of a service
My father was a 3 year veteran of the pacific war and this sheds so much light on his beliefs in later life, his reluctance to talk about his experience and his shear joy of knowing he would have a life when he found out the war was over. He was in the Phillippines awaiting the invasion of Japan. The DVD gives the story form the ground up with interviews of combatants to those in command. I highly recommend this video

An Incredible Video ; a work of art
Review by Pbs F. on 07/17/20 review stating An Incredible Video ; a work of art
FDRs memory is a brilliant and inspiring star. He is a supernova shining against a dark and depressing backdrop of black holes represented by the likes of Willard Romney, Paul Ryan, Sarah Palin, George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, Joe McCarthy, Lee Harvey Oswald, Benedict Arnold, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer and other assorted psychopaths, and twisted evil creatures of U.S. history. It should be required that this video be watched by every high school student as a precondition for graduation and every immigrant a precondition for U.S citizenship.
