Labor of Love
Review by Kristin on 07/17/20 review stating Labor of Love
This show is such a labor of love for Dr. Gates. The combination of written history and DNA testing makes for a really complete experience for his guests, and therefore the viewers as well. A must-see for both amateur and professional genealogists, as well as those who just love history.

They dont want us to forget!
Review by Loki on 07/17/20 review stating They dont want us to forget!
Ive always been an avid history enthusiast. Ill read straight shots of history or just well-written fiction based history. It wasnt until a recent Conference that an African American man, whom I respect greatly, shared his interest in his own genealogy. How is it that I have never researched the history of me? This series was one tool we shared in search of ourselves. This series brought us together and forced us to look at ourselves in a whole new way. We learned with the help of this series that our ancestors have may have provided the key pieces of our souls that make us the people we are today. Now, my wife and I have grown closer together by researching our own genealogy. This series and idea is changing my life. In the words of my experienced friend, They dont want us to forget!

Connick and Marsalis
Review by Peter F. on 07/17/20 review stating Connick and Marsalis
The show showed me that surprises can come in any form. In my genealogy I found that an uncle of my grandfathers was listed as missing in Germany but I found his grave stone in California, also through an article in a German newspaper I found relatives living in Israel.
