This recording offers the best voices that Broadway has to offer singing the brilliant music of Kander and Ebb...and performed with excellent skill and expertise. This DVD truly earns a standing ovation.

For years it felt as if they lived in Stephen Sondheims shadow, but for my money Kander Ebb are better. Its a treat to hear these electrifying new arrangements, and only leaves you wanting more. How about a CD release?

Score another one for PBS. They assembled one of the most talented cast of performers, all of whom were unknown to me, to perform the tunes of Kander and Ebb - many of which I had never heard before. Each of the cast excelled in individual, duet or group performances. The small but well instrumented orchestra and the wonderful musical arrangements just enhanced the entire production. Hurrah for the boys of Military Man, the gals of the Apple Doesnt Fall Very Far from the Tree and a standing ovation for the gal who discovered New York, New York. (Ive heard that song a million times but never better), I wont mention any names hear. This is a record that has to be heard for a thrilling hour or so of divine performances demonstrating the talents of two of Broadways genius musical theater writers.

Every once in a while PBS comes out with a superb program like Love in Portofino, Streissands in Back to Brooklyn and the latest First You Dream. Every one of the DVDs was worth buying. They were extremely well done and were worth every dime I paid for them. 5 Stars just isnt enough to rate these disks. This is exactly what makes PNS so indespensible. Thank you PBS
