And All that Jazz
Review by Jo A. on 06/05/22 review stating And All that Jazz
Ken Burns Jazz is a compelling and all-encompassing documentary of the iconic music style through the ages. Done in the style he developed, it features priceless interviews, commentaries, and performances. It also documents the historical triumphs and indignities of the jazz musicians themselves.

Mr. Burns is the best contemporary filmmaker we have. I purchased this series as a gift for a person who loves jazz but has had little access to the great music of the last century. This film has captured the soul of that great music form in a way that embodies the history and the performances of the truly great!

I remember when this wonderful series was first aired back in 2001 and I never missed one episode. It truly changed my life and openened my mind and ears to a whole new Universe. Fifteen years later, I lost count in how many times I watched the episodes. Its a masterpiece and Ken Burns earned my admiration since then. Each School and Public Library here in USA should have a copy of this documentary, to allow the young generations to better know about this wonderful music and amazing artists. Jazz is about all of us.

Re-watching for the 7th time
Review by Elisa W. on 04/07/21 review stating Re-watching for the 7th time
Ken Burns Co.: whenever I watch Jazz I learn something new. I each time I watch I think to myself, if all Americans actually took the time to watch this one monumental show, racism might die overnight. The people who invented Jazz, and the people they represent, and the people whom their mighty music touched and moved, are le then no one. No one at all. Thank you KB and Co. for putting this together. There will never be a time that I don't watch this series for as long as I live.
