Makers: Women Who Make America, Volume 2

In the last half-century, women have fought their way into nearly every sphere of American life, from the battlefield to the comedy club, the soundstage to the Senate. Expanding on the critically acclaimed PBS documentary MAKERS: Women Who Make America, which told the story of the modern American women's movement, each documentary in this six-part series examines the impact of the women's movement on six fields once largely closed to women. Through intimate interviews with trailblazing women known and unknown, viewers are given a rare limpse - sometimes funny, sometimes sad, and always candid - of what it was like to be pioneers in their fields. Directed by some of the country's leading independent filmmakers, MAKERS brings to life new and unforgettable stories that every woman, man, girl and boy should know.

Every Woman Needs to See this
Review by Gina on 07/17/20 review stating Every Woman Needs to See this
This Film is uplifting... When we become president; we will do away with the three branches of government in the stodgy way they are now. We the People will be the backbone of our President. She will not speak alone. With her great voice the American people will be included with all of their diversity. We will do away with all of the great lawyering, lobbying, licking the feet of another since there is no need. The blue states; the red states will no longer have value. The bodies that will fill the great halls of our branches of government will be WE THE PEOPLE, real bodies, men, women and children who represent our communities, our diversities, our love for the dirt we farm, the cities and counties where we work, the churches that mend us; the states that divide us. Women need to step and lead. GMC 2015

Essential viewing for every young woman
Review by Grandma J. on 07/17/20 review stating Essential viewing for every young woman
An exellent series documenting the courageous and painful story of women striving to be acknowledged as equals and co-creators of our society. Womens liberation is actually a story of the freeing of human potential.
