If there was example of a mistreated woman, it would be Marie Antoinette. She was too young to be Queen. Louie was so stupid. I find it hard to believe that he had no idea what sex was. He spent a lot of time around animals, you think he would have pick up some idea! This documentary tells a true story of this poor woman. How the French hated Marie. Lies and cheats spoke of this woman, telling untrue stories. What a sad ending.

I ordered this DVD when I returned from France had visited Versailles. I have also just finished reading Antonia Frasers book on Marie-Antoinette and since the book was used for the DVD, it was like a Coles Notes of the book. However, the DVDs pace keeps your interest although the information in the book gives much more detail. What a sad ending to a girl who was used as a pawn in her mothers royal scheme.

One of the best documentaries on Marie Antoinette ever made. Rich in detail, Her story keeps you hooked from the beginning to the tragic end. It shows the good and the bad in the woman who finally when it was too late, became the Queen she might have been all along.

It is useful to see the historic data presented here as opposed to the commercial versions of the life of Marie Antoinette and those around her at that time period. It was not an easy time to live.

Excellent and thorough hitorical journey along Marie Antoinettes lives tragic, ignorance and where it lead her. I dont much like having to read translations at the bottom of the screen. I think those who spoke French chose NOT to speak English for those portions. Good visals.

The story balances all Maries strengths and weaknesses. It covers her entire life and explains away several of the myths surrounding her. It showed most of the significant sites figuring in her history. The only minus was it could have explained more of the background political motivations for what the rest of Europe was doing during the French Revolution. Overall, well done.
