I just received my DVDs of the Pilot, Series 1 and Series 2 of Inspector Lewis. I could barely wait for their arrival. I have totally enjoyed the series and I was so happy to see Inspector Lewis again. I think Laurence Fox was a perfect choice for Kevin Whatelys sidelick. They had such good chemistry together and the humor and emotional connection between them made the programs terrific on so many levels. Thank you PBS.

What a let down to read the reviews and find out that PBS will not only short change you on the movie that you are going to buy but put junk into the movie/DVD as well. It makes me not want to buy this or any other DVD from PBS. I liked the series of Inspector Lewis, I thought that it was a good follow up to Inspector Morse, fuller and more twisted in plot. I did not like reading about the way that PBS shortened the shows, especaily for the price I was going to pay, now I am not going to pay a dime for it. I give the series a 5 star rating, but PBS a zero, not even a star, for sales. In this case no sale.

The first disc shown on local TV was very promising. Lewis was more like the Lewis we loved in the Inspector Morse series, but the plot was uninteresting and the photography uninspiring. Morse was mentioned, but the disconnect remained in place. We dont know who Lewis is or what is his particular genius when it comes to addressing a crime. But I ordered the series by faith.

Great job and a worthy successor to Inspector Morse. The plots are complicated, twisting and demand your attention -- dont interrupt me when Lewis is on. Excellent casting and acting, and the interplay between Lewis and Hathaway is super and a pleasure to watch. Im eagerly awaiting Series 3, 4 and more.

I am a huge fan of this series. I am in the process of buying all four seasons. The stories are believable and so interesting. Lewis Hathaway are great detectives and becoming good friends, which makes the story so enjoyable.

These mysteries couldnt get any beter.Hathaway and Lewis along with the rest of the cast are great together and we just cant get enough. You will not be disappointed in your purchase.
