I was thrilled!

The entire experience was excellent. The order process was easy. And the dvds were quickly shipped and received within the promised time. And the customer service was exceptional.

Deceptive

PBS is less than transparent when it claims early Lewis dvds are U.K. Edition. They are not . They are the edited , shortened us versions. PBS should have more respect for its viewers and online buyers P. S. I love this series but have bought the original full length versions available on pbs site from series 4 on.

Great Branch Of From Morse

My best friend had got me into these mysterys and i cannot get enough! i finish Morse and was sad it was over. I wondered what would become of Lewis? It sad beacuse you mis the Duo, but the new guy gts your mystery going just as well! They work well also. I recomend if you liked Morse give this a chance! Great mysterys! Great stories!

Better than Morse

I know, its heresy to say so - however I like this series better than Morse. Lewis seems more natural as a cop; police work seemed an unlikely choice for Morse. The writing is excellent and the chemistry between these two guys is very appealing and watchable.

Lewis only gets better with time.

As this was the pilot plus first episodes of the series, its a little like going back in time. Only it isnt, the characters and the stories remain relevant and will do so for many years to come. I absolutely love the interaction between those two vastly different characters - Lewis and Hathaway!

Great Series

I really enjoy the Inspector Lewis series and was very pleased to find it here. I had missed the pilot and first series. My purchase came very quickly in the mail and was great quality. I really enjoyed watching them.

A joy to watch

Kevin Whately just keeps getting better and better. Laurence Fox is an absolute delight and pairing the two of them was brilliant. The photography and camera work is at times breath taking and the musical score wraps it all up. Hopefully we can look forward to more episodes in a new series.

Brit dialogue is challenging...

I love this series, but at 81 years, I do have a hard time catching all the dialogue, especially of those episodes like the pilot program, where there are no subtitles. I am especially fond of the complexity of D.I. Hathaway as played by Laurence Fox.

Love Inspector and Partner

I love all of the PBS Mystery series but I am especially fond of Lewis and his partner. They are a good mix. Out of all the ones out there these are the only ones I purchase. They are good to watch over and over. Of course you have to like mysteries. I like the fact that they are based in England.

Quite good - really enjoyed it!

I always was a fan of Inspector Morse and had a soft spot for Lewis. In this new series, paired with DS Hathaway, Lewis is showing more of his own talent, experience on the job, and the association with brainy Hathaway makes the shows very entertaining. Being set in Oxford is always a treat .. An excellent purchase.

A great pair!

We loved MORSE and are delighted Kevin Whately is continuing the stories. Laurence Fox is also excellent. We love the Oxford setting, too.

If I could add another star to the rating I would. We have been fans of the Morse series and have the entire collection but Inspector Lewis with Sargent Hathaway is even beter yet. Hope they make more!!!

WLL GET ALL DVDS IN THE SERIES

I LOVE THIS SERIES BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I WAS ABLE TO SEE THE POLIT. I HAVE THE 2ND DVD AND NOW WILL BUY DVDS 3 4. GREAT TO WATCH ON A COLD WINTERS NIGHT.

Masterful Plots

The series pilot includes a few, but timely reminders of Lewis and Inspector Morse. However, it becomes increasingly interesting to note the progression in the developing relationship between Inspector Lewis and Detective Sergeant James Hathaway. The plot is very masterful. Whom the Gods Should Destroy is gripping. Once again, the plot is superb. The conclusion of the case is fascinating, rather surprising, and yet very satisfying. This episode is one that will not be soon forgotten by the viewer.

Have always been pleased!

Lewis and Hathaway, the perfect team!!!

I have been a fan of masterpiece for many years. I have enjoyed Inspector Morse, and I love that Inspector Lewis has filled his shoes!! I think Sgt. Hathaway, and Lewis are a perfect match, just as Morse and Lewis, in his younger years, were a perfect match. The quality of the DVD is excellent, and I will enjoy watching them in the future.

Inspector Lewis-British Murder Mysteries

Morse and Midsomer Mysteries are excellent, well written and well acted. Inspector Lewis is even better. When will Series 4 be available at the PBS Store?The only copies [@]offers wont play on American (Region 1) DVD players. Be aware that [@]is selling the pilot of this series as Mystery!: Inspector Lewis without identifying it as the pilot.

Great to be able to view many times

It is wonderful to be able to watch the episodes many times so that I can see all of the hints and symbols that I missed on the inital viewing. I hope that there will be many more of the Inspector Lewis stories in the future!
