I just watched it on PBS, I had tears and joy at the end.

Im 69 years old and I can honestly say it really brought out the sensitive side of me that I missed for years. I will be ordering it without the discount by Decembers disability check as a Vietnam Veteran. I want share it with all my children, grandchildren, and great grand children.

Charming, well-acted interpretation

Interestingly, the books setting, New England, is not replicated in either Disneys or this version. This English version is much more nuanced than the earlier movie. Even in his best work, Disney tended to rely too much on caricature and to lapse into preachy sentiment. By contrast, the U.K. movie seemed to have no minor characters. Everything operates at a high level: acting and cinematography, as well as humor and dramatic tension. I consider it a classic.

Heartwarming Family Film

This is a delightful and touching film of an orphan girl who captures the hearts of the townspeople with her kindness and optimistic attitude and changes the lives of some embittered people in the process. The performances are wonderful, and the story is set in the beautiful English countryside. It is refreshing to watch entertainment that is wholesome and promotes upbuilding values. Perhaps the film could have been lengthened, for it seems that it ended a bit soon.

An excellent family classic

Georgina Terry did an excellent job in bringing to life once again the lovable Pollyanna! Hayley Mills was remarkable and enjoyable, but this is one of the rare instances where the remake was worth it. My daughter enjoyed the movie and it didnt matter that it was set back in the twentieth century. Highly recommended!
