I love gothic novels or movies. This was very good and the stars did a great job. I never saw the AH version and I suppose it m/b better. But this was very entertaining and I think even the author would enjoy it. (by Sue)

Rebecca is one of my favorite novels. This production by Masterpiece was beautifully presented and followed Du Mauriers book precisely. Charles Dance, Emilia Fox and the rest of the actors are great. It gives all the rich details and the scenery is magnificent! Im delighted I purchased this DVD and will enjoy it over and over again. Thanks Masterpiece!

First loved Gothic read comes to life
Review by Born2 S. on 05/03/21 review stating First loved Gothic read comes to life
This was the first book I read as a teenager that started a life long love of English Gothic literature and other English and American classics. The adaptation was so well done - casting, acting, and story layout were perfect - watched it 3 times in a row!

Very tedious rendering of a favorite Gothic thriller
Review by Bernard F. on 08/05/20 review stating Very tedious rendering of a favorite Gothic thriller
I cant erase the memory of the Alfred Hitchcock version of this Gothic thriller. With the exception of Diana Rigg, all the major characters were NO MATCH for the likes of Laurence Olivier, Joan Fontaine, George Sanders from the Hitchcock version.

I love the book and this an enjoyable version of Rebecca. Buy and enjoy!

"A near masterpiece of escapism, a gorgeously mounted, triumphant new two-part Rebecca that validates the remaking of at least some movie classics." - The Los Angeles Times

"With vivid clarity, the new Rebecca offers a modern twist on what remains a deliciously old-fashioned psychological melodrama." - The New York Times"
