Pearl Harbor - Into the Arizona The USS Arizona has been resting on Pearl Harbor's ocean floor for the past 75 years. For the first time since it was destroyed in 1941, scientists have the technology to take an in-depth look inside the ship. Once considered the pride of its fleet, the Arizona has taken on drastic changes in the shallow waters of the Pearl. This comprehensive search of the USS Arizona sheds light on one of the darkest days in American history. The discoveries made inside the ship are a stark reminder of all those who paid the ultimate price for their country. The expedition retells personal stories of survivors who lived through Japan's surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. It also brings a survivor who was aboard the Arizona back to see the ship for what might be one last time. A sight he never thought he'd see again.

Inside the USS Arizona

I watched this last night on the Allentown, Pa., PBS station. It was remarkable. Any WWII buff and soldier would appreciate seeing this. Im hoping to purchase it for my brother (our Dad served in the SeaBees during WWII, in Okinawa), and both of us have an interest in that period.

I saw this when it aired around the end of 2016. I had saved it onto my DVR, but Verizon confiscated it when I moved 1 yr later and made me start out at my new address with a new DVR (same exact machine, so have no idea WHY I had to give up my recordings!!! - I was not a happy camper). I cant wait to have this to keep forever. Only wish my dad were still here to watch it......he was at Pearl Harbor.

What an amazing breakthrough! I have always wanted to see inside of the memorial but knew that divers could not enter. This was tastefully done. Technology and the actual survivors made this a great example of how advances can be the bridge between the past and today. Watched it 3 times. EXCELLENT.
