Secrets of the Dead: Resurrecting Richard III

In 2011, a group of amateur historians made an incredible archaeological find: the bones of King Richard III, hunchbacked, with an arrow through the spine. Richard is thought of as the most evil king to have ruled England and also as a fearsome warrior, despite the extreme curvature of his spine. Now, scientists are testing the bones to find out more about the king and also conducting fascinating experiments to determine whether Richard could have fought so ferociously in battle with such a severe deformity

This in-depth program about what scientists have found after discovering Richard IIIs bones was one of the most interesting programs Ive seen. They not only researched the health and related information available from tooth and bone samples, they went a step further. Locating a young man with similar physical characteristics revealed definitively by the bones, they taught him to ride, swordfight, and joust to test how Richard managed with his scoliosis. The young man was tremendously committed to the research project and provided key information to explaining how Richard managed to accomplish what he did.

This is one of the most fascinating historical documentaries that I have ever watched. Including the young man, Dominick, to represent a living Richard III, made this a gripping story from start to finish. Well done!
