Shakespeare's Tomb

To coincide with the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death, University of Cambridge historian Dr. Helen Castor and a team of archaeologists embark on the first-ever scientific investigation of Shakespeare's grave. They seek to discover if there's any truth to the rumors that his grave, which carries a curse against any man who 'moves his bones', has been tampered with. The investigation also explores a Victorian story that Shakespeare's skull was stolen by trophy hunters, following a trail that leads to a mystery skull stashed in a crypt beneath a country church. Will removing the church step and taking a 3D scan of the skull confirm if it's a possible match for Shakespeare? Four hundred years after Shakespeare's death, this program aims to separate the fact from the folklore surrounding the Bard.

What a piece of work!
Review by Pattye on 07/05/22 review stating What a piece of work!
I bought this particular video not only because I am a Shakespeare fan, but for research purposes. I am a volunteer guide at a historic Philadelphia cemetery. At this particular cemetery, all guides write and research their own topics and tours. I noticed that an unusual number of our residents (No, we dont call the stiffs), have Shakespearean connections---actors, scholars, etc. One specific resident-scholar was positively obsessed with Shakespeares physical appearance, and published at least four works about it. This amazing video gave me backgrounds and insights that I could never have seen by simply going through old books, and--lets face it--Dr. Castor is good company!
