Fabulous information detailing brain development, problems that can occur at different times in ones life and how new technology is changing our ideas about the brain.

Useful for university teaching

I originally videotaped this series on my home VHS, but over the years, the quality of the tape decreased. I finally decided to purchase the DVD series and find it just as timely as when the series was first presented on PBS. I use all of the episodes in classes that I teach at a university (language development, cognition and aging, neuroscience).

It is a wonderful DVD that really explains the development and decline of the brain. I am showing it in my Substance Use and Prevention classes. I will then explain how drug use affect the development of the brain and how it changes brain chemistry. Thank you for having this available it works perfectly for my class.

I was pleased to see such an excellent and well presented series on the brain. As a topic of great fascination, I learned a great deal. Being dyslectic, the coverage on the topic was inspiring. This is PBS at its best. Thankfully, those involved in series really did their homework! Every time I learn more life seems less scary. One may not be able to control life, but understanding makes one (me) more accepting of what one cannot change.
