Odd rare trees turned into unique art
Review by Nails N. on 07/17/20 review stating Odd rare trees turned into unique art
PBS showed how some rare beautiful woods were found. The sculptor sought unique pieces then let each piece guide him how to best display it, from small pieces to a fantastic free-form piece more than ten feet long. Best for me were comments by old men who use the old ways of shaping wood or know how Polynesians made ocean-spanning catamarans which spread their culture across musch of the Pacific. There was no chain-saw art by the narator, but a race to get all his pieces ready for a major Art Show in NYC, from small to huge pieces, each unique. All were beautiful Id like to get one.

The artist has a unique reductive carving technique, his experiences in Africa are fasinating and eco-friendly. The final show at SOFA Chicago is beautiful.
