Weekend in Havana In Weekend in Havana, host Geoffrey Baer travels to the capital city of Havana to explore Cuba alongside the people who live there. Join him with three young and ""high-octane"" local guides: architect and restorationist Daniel de la Regata; one of Cuba's top flamenco dancers, Irene Rodriguez; and Grammy-nominated jazz pianist Roberto Fonseca as they take you on a whirlwind tour of Cuba's fascinating and colorful history. You'll experience a hands-on introduction to Afro-Cuban music and dance, a primer on Havana's varied architecture and efforts being made to restore the city's ruins, and an inside look at how everyday Cubans live in this ""old city trying to find its place in the modern world,"" a place off-limits to Americans for decades.

I just watched this PBS special and was immediately back in Havana. I love that city with its history, music, food, culture and most of all, the people. What can I say about the Cuban people. They are music personified.....they are very friendly and make you feel so at home.

Just like I remember it!
Review by Barry on 07/17/20 review stating Just like I remember it!
Watching this show brought back a flood of memories. During our summer vacation, my friends and I would drive down to Key West and then take a Q Airlines flight to Havana. We would spend 3 weeks to a month down there enjoying what Havana had to offer. A lot of the guys I went to school with were Cuban born, but attended high school in Miami. I have nothing but fond memories of that Island paradise.
