The price was a fair one for this lovely cookbook. However, I wanted to buy his Note Stationary. The price for those was way over priced for the average person. Too bad because I already purchased 3 more cookbooks for my granddaughter and daughters. Their main gift this year is a basket of writing apparatus. It would have been nice if I could have included the stationary notes.

Pepin consistently produces books that are very helpful to home cooks, often while teaching techniques. There are no recipes that require $300 worth of truffles, for example! With his long experience, he is able to distill and simplify recipes to make them useful for even novice cooks.
