Depressingly True

I experienced many of the situations shown in this film. I remember the segregation, the signs, the separation, and the limits placed on the sovereignty of African American lives in my home state of North Carolina and in other southern states.

Instilling in young Blacks the essence of education. hard work and respect for each other will go a long way in improving their lot. Technical education should be profoundly emphasized as part of High School education.

This documentary helped me to understand the history African Americans have lived through and continue to live. I had no idea about the Green Book, and I am happy to have learned about this. It is heartbreaking because we are still seeing the same pattern in our current events. Some day, I hope we will live in a world where African Americans and people of color do not have to fear driving and existing. Thank you, PBS.
