Cordless Full-Page Magnifier LED Table-Top Lamp

Heavier than expected but also the weight makes it steady where placed.

The Table-Top Magnifier requires 3 AA batteries. The long-lasting LED bulbs face down toward the text - from about four to six inches. Light is not needed generally but is fully present at the flip of a switch. The base is thick and may require an innovative foundation for the text or item to be viewed. The lens is etched plastic, like the credit card-sized lenses that fit handily in a wallet. Magnification is about 2 times, being clearer at the center of the text. With hands off, a page or an open book can be read all at once. - The 6-piece Magnifier Set is potentially as shaky as ones hand. With the box placed so the flat checkered handle is on the left and facing away, the checkered handle glass seems to boost to 2.5 Power before it loses clarity, which happens if it is too far from the observed object. Testing shows the next lenses at: 3, 5, 4, 6, and 5 for the big lens on the right. The user can move the lens closer and farther from the text and from the eye, testing for the optimal magnification and definition. - The user could devise a frame of wire, cardboard, or other resources to hold the lenses of the magnifier set in a fixed position. A mechanic or artist would have the hands free. A small lens just above the print of the full-page magnifier is effective in enlarging the object. To have both the full-page and the small magnifiers enables the easy reading of very obscure print.

I was hoping to use it for a work light but it doesn't afford enough magnification. Haven't tried it for reading yet.
