I grew up with the traditional savory pierogies made by my Polish grandmother. They are still my favorite, (potato, cheese, sauerkraut). A trip to Poland years later added blueberry pierogies to my list with a mild sweetness. This cookbook provides a selection of recipes to provide comfort food for everyone.

If you are.... this is NOT the book for you. But if you LOVE pierogis, the IDEA of pierogis and have a sense of adventure this one IS for you. Great fun recipes to try and enjoy....a beginners guide to spinning off some of your own faves !!!

There is no index. Some of the instructions don't seem to be complete No explanation if Pierogis can be baked or if they have to be boiled before they are fried. Instructed say to quickly cook the vegetables then mix in the raw meat, then fill and seal the pierogis before boiling. This seems unsafe since there is no way to tell if the meat is cooked properly.
