Spanning 750 miles from the Mediterranean Sea to the Adriatic Sea, the Alps connect eight European countries. From sea level to peaks rising higher than 12,000 feet, and with many of the world's environments located within the Alps' boundaries, each mountain chain is more imposing and diverse than the next. Discover how Eurasian lynx, golden eagles, ibex, griffon vultures and other animals face extreme seasonal fluctuations – from the volatile thunderstorms and landslides of summer to the avalanches and frozen temperatures of winter – in this epic two-part documentary event. On every mountain slope, ridge or meadow, a natural world drama plays out as animals fight for survival in Europe's majestic Alps.

Magnificent scenery of the Alps
Review by Yolande on 02/25/22 review stating Magnificent scenery of the Alps
The scenery of the Alps is grandiose and magnificent, as seen from the birds eye view (eagle). The Dolomites are very impressive and bring back memories of my trip to this region in 2011. What is said of the fauna was instructive to me, especially on the chamois which was on the brink of extinction when I was young. We saw a small group of long-horn sheep in the St. Julien pass, going to St. Moritz in 2011. Overall, the quality of the filming and of the narrative text is great!

Unbelievable photography. Beautiful and breathtaking footage of the Alps through four seasons, and the lives of animals and birds who live in these extreme weather conditions. I am impressed at the sophistication of the cameras and the perseverance of the photographers.
