I purchased this book for my wife who is a huge fan of Elton John and his music. When I saw there was a signed copy of Eltons lyricist, Bernie Taupin, and better yet, that it was offered by PBS, I had to get it. That was the best decision I have made in a while. I thought my wife would be happy, but she was over the moon when it came in the mail. Thank you PBS!

Bernie Taupins lyrics, sung by Elton John, inspired me to write my first full poem/song back in 1975. What a team! When I discovered this new memoir in the PBS catalogue, I jumped on it. I was not disappointed. It is highly readable, overflowing with familiar names, songs, and events--filling in the unknown. Scattered throughout are Taupins songwriting methods, comments on all sorts of songs, and interactions with musics best and most venerable. If the music from the last 50 years means anything to you, this book is worth its weight in gold.
