A sobering account of the near annihilation of a wonderful people, culture, and the majestic animal they depended upon. Beautiful, gripping, sad, and infuriating at times. And yet we are left with hope that all is not lost and resolve that tragedies such as these are never repeated.

I will play this for my grandchildren and hopefully they will do the same so that they are aware of this part of history. This is an excellent video that shows that nothing is immune to sudden, unexpected, and drastic changes to life as we now know it.

as usual --- Ken Burns outdid himself on this film. ive always been fascinated with stories about the Native Americans and their contacts with the Buffalo. I had watched this the first time our local PBS showed it on TV. So I gave the DVD to my brother for Christmas. He is taking a class at Ohio State for senior citizens all about Native Americans and he loved this film, too.

An excellent film that depicts the wanton killing of massive quantity of animals almost to extinction of the whole breed. I spent almost 3 months eagerly awaiting its release. It was well worth the wait. Thank You
