No doubt remains: a mole has infiltrated the Circus, code name for the British Secret Intelligence Service. It can only be one of four men operating at the very highest level. Sidelined agent George Smiley is covertly tapped to root out the mole, a task that requires a painstaking dig through the double-blind world of Cold War-era espionage and his own past. Great film, horrible price.
Review by Gayle on 06/06/22 review stating Great film, horrible price.
Love the films, which are slow and beautiful with splendid acting and writing. The problem is the price. After paying the shipping charges and the exchange, ive paid more than twice what i could have paid elsewhere. I love PBS but i dont think most of that money is going to you, and i have sworn never to purchase another CD from you. Sorry!

Master spy tale

No matter who Alec Guiness portrays, it is memorable . George Smiley, like so many others, is unforgettable.

Excellent Story, Poor Sound
Review by Michael on 02/22/22 review stating Excellent Story, Poor Sound
The video was very good, but the sound was quite fuzzy and difficult to understand at times. Could be better.

le Carre and Alec Guinness at their best
Review by John on 01/07/22 review stating le Carre and Alec Guinness at their best
An excellent rendition of le Carres novel. Alec Guinness and cast deliver solid performances in typical British fashion as John Irvin takes us through a far more realistic (a slow and deliberate unfolding across seven episodes) representation of spycraft than the rather hasty (2 hour) 2011 film was willing to do.

Its a very good story
Review by Norman on 09/07/21 review stating Its a very good story
Its a very good story with different episodes on different discs. The main protagonist (George Smiley) is played very well by Alex Guiness. I am a little nervous that in the upper left hand corner is blu-ray. I hope that is a mistake because my equipment cant play blu-ray, just plain DVD. I consulted with Dracula. He doesnt like blu-ray either.
