The Paper Doll's House Hardcover Book

In the late 19th century, doll's houses in book form allowed children to bring a favorite plaything along on trips. In 1884, twelve-year-old Sarah Elizabeth Birdsall Otis created her own, using scraps of wallpaper, gilded trim, and engravings from mail-order catalogs. She populated her dream home with ornate paper dolls, preserved in envelopes marked with the names of the characters. This reproduction of the original is a wondrous work of art. 11 ½" x 9" hardcover, 80 pages, with removable reproductions of paper dolls and dresses ready for play.
