Ken Burns: The Statue of Liberty DVD

Although I have not see this video as it is a gift for Christmas, I know the quality of a Ken Burns video and I have no doubt this shall be as thorough and interesting as any of his other videos.

The Statue of Liberty DVD is awesome and very interesting about the Statue Of Liberty and I love it! I saw it Last night is awesome!

I was disappointed in the show. It was okay, but nothing more. The part of the show talking about the building of the statue in Paris, and the final trip to New York was well done, but after that it fell apart. A number of talking heads, some good and others a waste of time. No followup on the history of the statue after it arrived in New York. Not impressed with most of the talking heads Burns used.

I saw the Statue of Liberty last night and Its Awesome film! I love it! Ken Burns is awesome to make this awesome film about the Statue of Liberty. This is my favorite film!

I saw Ken Burns Video the Statue of Liberty by accident (just checking if my TV worked). The story of the design construction were fascinating: that immense statue didnt just happen, it took the genius of many individuals. The last part of the video, seeing immigrants arriving just as my own grandparents arrived, then hearing contemporary figures of note express their feelings about the statue as symbol of the U.S. had a different effect:Ive been crying like a baby, knowing my blessings remembering a visit to Auschwitz where I saw, with my own eyes, where I would have been burned to ash had my grandparents not been able to come to the land of the Statue of Liberty. THANKS FOR REMINDING ME OF THE ENORMITY OF MY BLESSINGS. ROGER D. MASTERS

Our 4 year old is fascinated with The Statue of Liberty! I was so excited to find this DVD for him. He sits and watches it from beginning to end, picking up pieces of information to reiterate to others later. Thank you for making such wonderful programs!

This is a wonderful biography that is perfect for all ages to learn the historyof the Statue Of Liberty. Where it came from, what it stands for,and why it is a symbol of freedom for all who see it.

Once again, PBS showed us the real story with comments from a slice of Americans to whom the Statue of Liberty has different meaning. Even though this was produced some years ago, it is relevant even now.

A great way to learn how the Statue of Liberty came to be. Fantastic!

Wonderful story of an amazing statue. Seeing the statue in New York for the first time brought tears to my eyes; seeing this film had the same effect.

We bought this for our grandsons - we have eight. It tells the statue story in a way that fascinates every age - including ours. Excellence is Ken Burns second name.

I was on Liberty Island in April and this DVD was so well produced; the emotions of being there resurfaced. Interviewing many people with a variety of backgrounds showed the complete picture from ALL angles. Not everyone sees the statue as a symbol of hope and freedom!! Seeing the renovation done of the statue re-emphasizes its importance. Thank you for having it available.
