Fantastic Program on Fractals!

Saw the program last night on TV, and enjoyed it immensely! Ive been doing fractal art for between three and four years now, and this program helped me understand things Id not figured out before, as well as reinforcing things I already did know! Id recommend this program to anyone!

NOVA: Fractals: Hunting the Hidden Dimen

I was disappointed in its content. I expected a more scientific presentation on the dynamics of fractals including mathematical and graphical properties. Instead the DVD somewhat hinted towards the applications aspect.

Blu-Ray

The program is excellent. Our problem was we didnt know it would be Blu-Ray. It was a gift to a family without a Blu-Ray player.

Outstanding

I watched this documentary on SBS2 in Australia. I am a high school Maths (we put an s on math over here) Head Teacher and would love to show it to my students as the content is absolutely perfect for engaging students in thinking about how mathematics impacts their lives even if they dont realise it. Major complaint however, we cannot order the DVD over here except online from US and then it will be the wrong zone!

Wow !!

Im a high school math teacher (talented and gifted), and this program is amazing! I cant wait until its released so I can show it to my students. It will knock their socks off ! Ive studied fractals for about 10 years, but its so hard to share my passion via book or lecture... this video is exactly what will excite my students.

The revolution captured on video

This is an amazing and enthralling documentary on fractals and their very real uses. It seems that fractals were an 80s/90s fad--but some folks kept up the torch and showed some great insights into things as diverse as human motion, forest growth--and even antennas! Easily on my top ten of science videos.

Math made interesting

Beautifully done movie. The many pictures of fractals are interesting in themselves. Math is not my interest but this was interesting all the way through. Explanation of sciences was good and very easy to comprehend.A laymans way to new understandings.Good for technical and non technical audiences.

Proving there is order in the Universe

Only flaw is that the obvious conclusion is ignored and great credit given to Evolution? Chaos does not congeal into order by itself, no matter how much time you give it. IF SO, please come to my house and fix my car, its always breaking down, where is evolution when I need it to be able to fly over the mountains? Science means knowledge, not opinions, still one of the best vids I have ever seen!

Beautiful Mathematics

Who knew that math could be so beautiful? Thats what I keep asking myself as I watched this captivating production. It was almost impossible to not see fractals all around after learning about this amazing mathematical concept. I love that math can be conceptualized in pictures.
