Excellent historic perspective of the Hysteria Effect
Review by Mike S. review stating Excellent historic perspective of the Hysteria Effect
Sarah (Towne, Bridges) Cloyce is my 10th great grandmother. It was obviously an honor for me to know that one of my ancestors that was treated so unjustly was depicted on American Playhouse by no other than the Great Vanessa Redgrave. Even if you are not related to Sarah or other supposed witches, it is a great and true historic depiction of how innocent people can be destroyed by fictitious fad declarations and proceedings. Sort of like the McCarthy era communist hysteria of the 1950s and the even more recent Day-care sex-abuse scandals of the 1980s. After the hysteria is over, and peoples lives have been totally destroyed, an apology, or in this case, 3-sovereigns, are given for your suffering. Then, everyone else moves on seamlessly with their lives except the victims that are left permanently damaged. This is a great historic example of the hysteria effect which crops up time and time again.
