Everything that a video about castles should be:

Even if you have visited medieval castles in Wales, you will find this video informative. David MaCaulay presents both live-acting and animated story for this production. It is somewhat dated 80s in sound and atmosphere, but that makes it part of the charm for me. Love the music/soundtrack. *If you want to view the full production of Castle, get this video and not the compilation put out by PBS called Ancient Civilizations. Sadly, that production does not include the live-acting portion of Castle that this version does. Make sure that you get the 60 minute version given in this listing*

Castle by David Macaulay
Review by Shar review stating Castle by David Macaulay
I like the way it shows both the story of a castle, the way it was built, the people who built it, the community that grows up all around it and the attack and defense of the castle. Its great for both children and adults. The mix of live people, real locations and drawings are integrated in such a way to make the story more interesting.
