FRONTLINE launches its new monthly magazine program with three investigative reports.

Are We Safer? - In this first story, Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post reporter Dana Priest investigates the terrorism-industrial complex that grew up in the wake of 9/11. Against a backdrop of recent mail bomb threats from Al Qaeda in Yemen and growing concerns about homegrown terrorists, Priest explores the growing reach of homeland security, fusion centers, battlefield technologies, and data-collecting into the lives of ordinary Americans.

Flying Cheaper - Who's fixing your plane? In Flying Cheaper, FRONTLINE correspondent Miles O'Brien investigates a growing trend -- the outsourcing of major airline repair work to independent maintenance operations and a pattern of questionable maintenance practices.

The Spy Who Quit - There are a lot of closely guarded secrets in Afghanistan. Amrullah Saleh, Afghanistan's former intelligence chief, knows most of them. FRONTLINE correspondent Martin Smith travels to Saleh's home in the Panjshir Valley, 60 miles north of Kabul, to ask him about his defection from the Karzai administration.

VIDEO USAGE RIGHTS

Why the AV version? Because it provides additional usage options for PBS videos. AV versions come with limited performance rights so they can be shown in classrooms, at PTA meetings, during after school programs, and transmitted on a closed-circuit system within a building or on a single campus. They also can be enjoyed in admission-free public screenings, which also makes them ideal for use by library patrons and businesses involved in community clubs and organizations.
