"A celebration of family as much as it is a recognition of the challenges of growing up and forging an individual identity, the program remains relevant due to the universal themes at its core. Backed by a nearly all-female creative team, Thomas' adaptation doesn't shy away from tackling the darker, more complex emotions the March family experiences. Drawing from a novel that was well ahead of its time the show speaks to current issues as much as it does to the issues women faced at the turn of the 20th century." - Blu-ray.com.com

“I found this mini-series absolutely fantastic as it quickly pulled me into the lives of 4 sisters. All the acting in this movie is absolutely perfect especially that of Emily Watson as Marmee and Maya Hawke as Jo. Big Sis’ thoughts on this movie are “I hate that it is so sad but I love that it is so sad” and just like that she discovered why women like to watch and read these types of stories. This miniseries is heartfelt and a great adaptation of a beloved story.” – Outnumbered 3 to 1

“I won’t spoil any more of the story in hopes that you check it out on your own. The acting is well done and Angela Lansbury does well at contrasting her Ms. Potts role in Beauty and the Beast for a cranky old aunt in this series. The characters are likable and relatable in this film. I could relate with some of the sisters more than others though. I highly recommend this series for those like me, who have been meaning to read the book.” – Christ Centered Gamer

3 .5 out of 4 stars

“Little Women remains a beloved tale some 150 years after its publication: the March family finds happiness (marriages) and endures tragedy (death), but throughout remains true to core values – honesty, kindness, caring for others – that could come across as sentimental but instead seem like exactly the right kind of medicine for our troubled times … Highly recommended.” - Video Librarian"

I have watched this mini-series twice, and I have read the book several times. This is one of my favorite adaptations of the book. Everything about it stays loyal to the spirit and feeling of Louisa May Alcotts book. The actors are wonderful and really capture the spirit of each character. This will be added to my collection!
