From best-selling British novelist Patrick Gale, Man in an Orange Shirt tells two powerful love stories set 60 years apart, linked by family and a painting with a secret that echoes through generations. The film explores a forbidden relationship made impossible by societal pressures during WWII, and vividly contrasts it with a present-day romance that is nearly derailed by the consequences of the 1940s tale with which it is deeply intertwined.

In 1944, British Army Captain Michael Berryman meets war artist Thomas March in southern Italy, as chaos reigns all around them. Despite having a young fiancée, Flora, waiting at home, straight-laced Michael finds himself falling for Thomas' bohemian charms. In 2017, an aging Flora looks on as her grandson Adam tentatively forms a relationship with his client Steve in a more accepting world. But while the external obstacles have fallen away, a minefield of internalized issues and dangerous temptations still pave the road to happiness.

From the makers of Broadchurch and Grantchester, this is a tender, powerful film sure to spark conversation about outdated attitudes and equal rights.

Love the Endeavour series...but...
Review by Classy M. review stating Love the Endeavour series...but...
I love the Endeavor mysteries...as does my 15 year-old daughter who is enamoured with Morse and wants to study at Oxford now! She may achieve it too - she is an advanced student with top marks and shes not a bad little detective!! anyway...We love watching the shows together...I do fast forward through certain scenes however! If Shaun Evans ever reads this review...I have noticed that in this series, Morse seems to be growing up very quickly...and I realize he must mature...but please Shaun...let Morse keep some of that sweet innocence and decency that makes him so appealing and yet remote at the same time...mystery is what the series is all about after all! Keep It coming... I absolutely love this series...its just wonderful!

During the times of Gay Pride month this is a compelling look at just where we have come from and how love is a boundless emotional statement.

I Wish They Would Release the Film Score!
Review by Pinball B. review stating I Wish They Would Release the Film Score!
I have watched this repeatedly since it aired, mainly just to listen to the film score, but I have also watched it all the way through at least three times. Please make the film score available! Besides Adrian Johnstons original music, which I cant get out of my mind, theres also a wonderful version of Dvoks Cello Concerto in B minor for piano and cello. As for the film, itself, the story is wrenching but with an uplifting but completely believable ending. The acting is superb. (Ive loved Kelly MacDonald since Train Spotting.) I recommend this to anyone who longs something of substance.
