Black American aviators, known as the Tuskegee Airmen, battled Axis powers in Europe and North Africa and then took on racism at home. Trained by the segregated military system as an experiment to see if blacks could fly in combat, these pilots made more than 15,000 sorties and 1,500 missions. I have been a pilot since 1975. The video gives wonderful insights of the Tuskegee location and the challenges faced by these great aviators.

Ben O. Davis goes through four years at West Point and no one talks to him. That was domestic terrorism. Amazing story how the Tuskegee Airmen fought Nazism and endured segregation.

I appreciated being able to know more details about the Tuskegee Airmen. My parents were close friends with Butch Watkins, one of the Tuskegee Airmen. So it was like looking at history through his eyes.
