One of the best books of its time, Wuthering Heights not only is the one and only novel written by Emily Bronte, but it distinguishes itself throught the unique plot, characters and rendering of a time in mans history that was not at all easy to describe or be a dreamer in, a writer with a conscience and also a gentle soul that knew how to describe the greatness and destroying power of Love, in times when Love was subdued to false behavioral manners and to a superficial education of the upper class society. The daughter of parson, Emily Bronte never really lived a love as great as the one her characters, Heathcliff and Catherine shared, nevertheless, in her uniqueness, this great Victorian writer consumes on paper and in our imagination one of the greatest feelings and relations that were to exist, if not for real, then at least in her world of heroes and antiheroes. Theres no way that we dont live strongly and emotionally Catherines passionate love for Heathcliff, a savage in actions, but so gentle in holding his Catherine in his arms, and, defying death, to live on the memory of her. And Catherine, a woman of deep passion and defying her upbringings rules of conduct, will be forever tormented by the love for Heathcliff and the rightnousness of Edgars actions and sincere lov;she, thus, resembles not only to all women of that gone era, but with any of us, today, too. Wuthering Heights - an inspiring novel that will live forever!

Slow reading, but, good reading
Review by Lady L. on 07/30/20 review stating Slow reading, but, good reading
At times it is difficult reading, but, yet interesting. You find the footnotes just as interesting. This is another book where you visiualize the English countryside and get a sense of the coldness while sitting by the fireplace enjoying a hot toddy.
