Fantastic, uplifting story of a wonderful man and his awe inspiring music.The special features were also fascinating and featured extra music not covered in the film. tragically, he died too soon. He left behind such a wonderful musical legacy. His music is timeless!

I happened to be in San Francisco when I watched this in my brothers house. It was very emotional for me. The song While I still have time touched me however, Ive been trying to find that song anywhere with no success. Will you be able to help me with finding it? Thanks, I will truly appreciate that.

This DVD is so delightful and gives the viewer an in-depth look at the life of Marvin Hamlishch and his love of music. We learnt a lot from it, and it was so interesting and uplifting, though very sad to know that he was taken from us far too early. We will treasure this DVD and pass it around for others to enjoy over the coming years. We thoroughly recommend buying this DVD.

Musician extraordinary, Marvin Hamlisch did it all, and reliving his successes (and a few not-so-successful attempts) is a wonderful trip down Broadway-memory lane, with detours to TV and movies. Repeated viewing is required -- which is why a DVD of the original PBS program is so wonderful, not to mention all of the extras.

This film gives us an insight into the man who was a true master of American 20th century music. His work is classical music comparable to and even surpassing many masters of times past. Beautifully crafted film. Not only do we get to enjoy his work but we get to know this master in a much more intimate portrait.

What an amazing talent the world was blessed with. This DVD gives a more personal portrait of Marvin with interview with people with whom he was extraordinarily generous. His time and money were shared with the world and he loved every minute! The last time I saw a DVD that he performed in was Idina Menzel Barefoot. He was amazing!! He did not look ill, and I have not heard why he died. All I know is my life was made SO much richer by seeing and hearing all the magic his talent produced. I never knew him, but hate that hes not on the planet anymore!! I cried during part of it, but in the end his was a life to celebrate and smile!!!

Dori Berinstein captures the story of the real Marvin Hamlisch! His beautiful wife Terre, his good friend Barbra Streisand, and many other stars collaborators and friends remember the great Marvin Hamlisch with tears and love. Photos of his parents, his start as a child prodigy at Juilliard, and his rise to fame on Broadway-as well as his failures and disappointments tell the story of a musical genius who was generous, kind, and loved! Worth watching over and over!
