My favorite version

Attention to details is one reason I like this film best. Even the soundtrack is wonderfully matched to the movie, with some interesting vocals. I have seen several other films on Elizabeth I, but this is my favorite.

Excellent acting, costumes, and true to the time period. Far much better than any hollywood version. What I also loved was the spiritual side of Elizabeth was not hidden, her passion for her God and country was her motivating duty as Queen.

Fantastic Historical Account
Review by Sarah on 07/17/20 review stating Fantastic Historical Account
I love this movie! If you are at all interested in an accurate take on royalty, you will love it. There is no hollywood gloss on this program. It shows the royals as they would have been during this time period. (For instance, the characters dont have sparkling white teeth and a full head of hair when they are supposed to be elderly people in the sixteenth century!) I absolutely recommend it.

We Enjoyed This Historical DVD
Review by Big F. on 07/17/20 review stating We Enjoyed This Historical DVD
Although the story of the Virgin Queen was troubling, my wife and I enjoyed the way the DVD was casted and the story was constructed. We also learned much about a time in Englands past.

Another view of a story well know. Enjoyed it. Like Glenda Jacksons portrayal much better - showed more fire and true descendant of Henry the VIII.

A very enjoyable and educational film. The actors were incredible. I highly recommend this film.

"Now, this is the way history should be told, full of passion and intrigue and drama! Lush in every possible way--visually, emotionally, even musically--this Masterpiece Theatre-aired British production, is an absolutely riveting retelling of the reign of the most famous daughter of Henry VIII. . . Sure to be catnip to both Anglophiles and armchair history buffs, this is highly recommended." -- Video Librarian
