It was certainly rustic! I decided that if the critter was ever going to be noticed it had to be decorated. I painted the bird using one of the Audubon Bird Books. Due to its size, I decided that the best woodpecker design would be that of the Pilated Woodpecker. It turned out very well and now there are reports in the neighbourhood that there is a Pilated Woodpecker to be seen!
