Brothers Max and Jake couldn't be more different. Max (Mark Bonnar, Catastrophe) is wealthy with an apparently perfect life. Jake (Jamie Sives, Chernobyl) scrapes by, running a record shop. Driving home late one night, they accidentally kill an old man on a darkened street.

They manage to conceal their crime, but when others suspect the death wasn't as innocent as it first appeared, the brothers' lives start falling apart. As their guilt takes them into a dangerous world where everyone seems to have a hidden agenda, they soon discover they can trust no one—not even each other.

Episode 1:
On a quiet residential street in Edinburgh, brothers Max and Jake run down an old man while Jake is driving them home from a wedding--stoned and uninsured. They carry on with their lives hoping Walter's death will be passed off as due to natural causes, but the brothers end up being pulled further into Walter's world.

Episode 2:
Max tries to derail the private detective he engaged to calm Walter's niece Angie's fears. Max is also dealing with threats from Walter's neighbor Sheila, who reveals that she witnessed something that night. For a price ,she will keep her mouth shut. Can Max convince his increasingly suspicious wife, Claire, to part with the money under the guise of yet another lie?

Episode 3:
Angie and Jake's burgeoning but complex relationship has hit a problem. Jake wants to make things work and starts asking questions about why Max controls the shop's accounting. Is there more to the record shop than it first appears? Unable to control his little brother's rocking of the boat, Max takes matters into his own hands, with terrifying results for Jake.

Episode 4:
Sheila claims ignorance when she discovers Walter's real niece has been in contact. Max orders Jake to leave the country with Angie, promising to sort everything out. Angie is still suspicious of Max ,and tries to prove to Jake that Max is not looking after his brother's best interests. Max and Angie have their own separate suspicions about Sheila's real involvement in the night of Walter's death.
