Sculpted by American artist Sylvia Shaw Judson in 1936, the wistful Bird Girl became famous overnight when she was featured on the cover of John Berendt's best-selling book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" (and later appeared in the movie). Cast from a durable, weather-resistant mix of fiberglass, resin, and marble with a softly aged finish, she's captivating. Medium statue is 28" tall including pedestal. 16 lbs. Allow 3-4 weeks. No rush delivery or gift box.

4 stars for the beauty of the statue but be aware...this is a 23 inch statue on a 3 and a half inch base. Barely hits 26 and a half total. Must be metric inches. Or like a box of cereal, everything is smaller these days

I really debated over this since I dont normally spend this much for garden decor items, but I couldnt be more pleased. I LOVE the sleek, dark finish and the simplicity; I really hate flashy, bright or colorful garden items. I prefer they draw some focus but blend in to the real stars of the garden; the living plants and blooming flowers. She does JUST this. Im so glad I decided to pay more for the hefty base because it helps lower the center of gravity for this statue, and I dont worry that it will topple at the hands of some of the crazy critters I get out in my backyard. I wish I could include a picture, so you could see how beautiful she is in the garden, but trust me; you will not regret your purchase.
